RiverBeds

Woodlands, Glencoe, Ballachulish PH49 4AA

You and your family can truly be at one with nature during your stay at RiverBeds.

“Peek through the trees and you’ll discover RiverBeds; magical micro cabins overhanging the river with a hot tub on the deck outside and everything you might possibly need on the inside! Our aim was to create a castle inside a cabin; amazing guest feedback since suggests we succeeded, and then some! Inside, it’s like a Tardis.  Only 12 square metres, yet a feeling of real space and great comfort.  Cannily crafted, with everything thought of and all so perfectly engineered.

The lodge has a bedroom, kitchenette and en-suite shower room, all in one!  Plus, you can enjoy deep silence because of the thick insulation and warm wooden floors. Sink into the Simba™ hybrid mattress and snuggle into Egyptian cotton sheets – luxury is our specialty and we’ve created the perfect atmosphere for romance. The Wee Lodge is packed with luxury electrics – brilliant coffee machine, powerful microwave, designer toaster, impressive Hi-Fi.

And of course there’s a TV and mini-fridge, too.  The en-suite shower room is a wet room with toilet: it’s not a big area (certainly no room for the cat to swing), but the water is hot and the towels are lovely!”

Kinlochlaich Tree House

Appin PA38 4BD

The Kinlochlaich Tree House is the accommodation of dreams…

“This Award winning Tree House is an unique octagonal eco building, with an additional octagonal timber clad extension which was constructed in Summer 2021.  Luxurious and bespoke, the property is tucked away in an 18th Century Orchard overlooking a woodland burn, with an oak tree in its centre!

The Property is located in the extensive and beautiful gardens of an historic country house – Kinlochlaich. It is situated on the south facing slopes of the Appin hills, in the county of Argyll. Set in an idyllic location near the sea, with views of the mountains, this property is perfectly positioned half-way between the towns of Oban and Fort William.

The Tree House is designed to be contemporary and green to its surrounding environment. On the outside it has natural lime rendered walls and timber cladding, traditional locally sourced slate roof and arched windows to complement the surrounding historic buildings. When you first step inside you will be drawn to its spacious and light design within the octagonal shape of the building. This allows for a dramatic use of Scottish oak for the frame, with  a real whole oak tree supporting the roof. Inside the original build, the open-planned living space encompasses a kitchen, sitting area and dining table, with a separate double bedroom and bathroom. A spiral staircase hugs the oak tree allowing access to a mezzanine gallery, offering a great spot to chill out in, read or work, or simply use as an area to gaze down on the rest of the house and appreciate the details within. A wood burner sits in the heart of this open planned living space, and creates a warm cosy retreat guests can look forward to after exploring the wild west coast.”
