AD| Evergreen Lodge with Hot Tub at Kingfisher Lakes in Yorkshire – Review

Evergreen Lodge with Hot Tub at Kingfisher Lakes in Yorkshire – last weekend we stayed in the Evergreen Lodge at Kingfisher Lakes.  It’s a family run glamping and log cabin site set around a beautiful lake in East Yorkshire.  It’s a family run site which you can tell from the warm and friendly emails from Jo, the owner, as well as the care and thought that has gone into the lodges themselves.

It’s close to the Yorkshire coast, and just over an hour’s drive to York which is a perfect destination for a day out.

As well as lots of safari tents and yurts, Kingfisher Lakes have two lodges for couples and a larger lodge that sleeps up to six – Evergreen Lodge which is where we stayed.

Two Bedrooms and Sofa Bed

The lodge itself has two bedrooms, a double and a bunk bed, as well as a sofa that converts into a sofa bed in the living area.

We loved the fairy lights arounds the bunk beds.

Living Area

The living area holds a dining table that seats six.  We ate our meals here and played board games on an evening.

There is also the comfortable sofa as well as two large beanbags.  You can have the sofa set up like this or hide the ottoman looking part away, (it’s more comfortable with it there, but trickier to sit down with a cup of tea! 🙂 )

There is a curtain that separates the sofa bed from the rest of the living room on an evening for privacy.

Kitchen

There is a very well equipped kitchen with everything you need. A two ring gas hob and oven, sink and fridge. There is also a kettle, toaster and cafetière.

There are plenty of plates, bowls and mugs as well as glass and plastic wine glasses (perfect for hot tub beverages!). A large cutlery drawer which holds more than you are likely to use, as well as lots of utensils.  Oh, and my favourite bit of kit – a cute looking gin measure!

The lodge is supplied with tea, coffee, milk sachets and sugar.  There is also dishcloths, tea towels and washing up liquid.

There are pans and serving dishes too. Although on that note, the nearby village, Brandesburton has a couple of pubs, pizzeria, Chinese restaurant and takeaway and an excellent chippy. Oh and don’t forget to bring charcoal if you want to barbecue at your lodge too!

Outside the Lodge

Outside the lodge is a covered deck with bistro set for early morning coffee.

To the side is a very private wood fired hot tub, lit by gorgeous festoon lights.

While you are in your hot tub, you can take in your spectacular view over the lake in front of the lodge.  This was our view at sunset – wonderful!

Two large glass doors in the lodge also give you a magnificent view too.

The Bathroom

The bathroom is generously sized with an absolutely huge shower.

Oh and don’t miss the Bluetooth mirror, you can pair your phone and listen to your tunes while showering!

Talking of tech, there are plenty of USB ports located in the plug sockets. There is limited WiFi, and our phones got 4G. There is no TV, so if the kids can’t live without it, get them to download a couple of movies before they come. But otherwise kick back, make the most of the hot tub, bring cards or board games and enjoy the stunning view!

We were invited to visit and review this lodge at Kingfisher Lakes.  As always, all opinions expressed are my own.
